    Keel Guard on Aluminum?

    Those that have installed a keel guard, do you notice any change for the negative in speeds? That rubber has to have some drag. Thanks

    Installed one on my H17. Didn't affect the speed at all.

    Also, how far up towards the bow did you run it? I have some scratches by the hook that I would like to cover.

    Installed on my x19 with no effect on speed. Once on pad probably not much touching the water.

    Just ordered the 3M KeelShield off of Amazon in red to match the boat. I got 7' to run up to the very point of the bow to cover scratches and protect from hitting the roller. I will remove the eye bolt, install shield, then install a new eye bolt.

    I used the six foot keel guard and the stainless bow protector. Ran it about two foot short of the bow eye.
