Old Testament (New King James Version)

The Book of Habakkuk: Chapter 1:-4

The burden which the prophet Habakkuk saw.

O Lord, how long shall I cry,
And You will not hear?
Even cry out to You, "Violence!"
And You will not save.

Why do You show me iniquity,
And cause me to see trouble?
For plundering and violence are before me;
There is strife, and contention arises.

Therefore the law is powerless,
And justice never goes forth.
For the wicked surround the righteous;
Therefore perverse judgment proceeds.

New Testament (New King James Version)

The Gospel According to Mark: Chapter 15:16-21

Then the soldiers led Him away into the hall called Praetorium, and they called together the whole garrison. And they clothed Him with purple, and they twisted a crown of thorns, put it on His head,and began to salute Him, "Hail! King of the Jews!" Then they struck Him on the head with a reed and spat on Him; and bowing the knee, and they worshiped Him. And when they had took the purple off Him, put His own clothes on Him, and led Him out to crucify Him.
