Rpm's should drop by 150 - 200, which will be bad for your motor.

I used to be all about the tempest. I'm 100% all in on the trophy now. For what it's worth. I could never make a fury run well on my 196

Trophy is a great prop especially one that has been worked. Remember Trophy like to run higher than a Fury or a Tempest. Trophy give up a little on hole shot compared to a Tempest in my opinion but the bad deal on Trophys are they are semi surfacing and run hard and high like they like on a TR or a X Series hull and you will eventually sling a blade. Slung 2 on Boger Props back in the day sent them back to him to put on the prop tree he had outside. Love the prop but it also was a expensive paper weight too. Had Croxton build me a Tempest and it has been awesome. Ran on my TR-21 and my TR-196 great prop! I found another Trophy recently I like on TR-196 and sold it with it Saturday along with a 26 Tempest. I kept my Croxton prop will have to try it out on my new Phoenix!!

I had a 2005 tr196 with 200 merc efi. Ran best with a 26 trophy plus for me. Had a 27 tempest but the trophy was actually a little faster. 8" of setback. 2 3/4 under. 76.7 the day I sold it with about 15 gallons of gas. 71-72 tournament loaded with 2 people

more testing today, put my brothers 26 3 blade fury on and moved motor up to 1 1/2 below pad, boat drove much better best speed was 70.3 with just me and 69.8 with two people boat loaded rpms was around 5500. put his 4 blade fury 26 with same set up and ran 72.3 with just me and 70.8 with two people boat loaded.. rpms still low at 5460. not sure how people are getting the speeds they clamed but it seems unreal. I am thinking of buying a 4 blade fury 25p

You can run a trophy higher than a tempest but not for long. I have a few three bladed trophy's.

It will release a blade from the hub, making it a scrap 3 blade. I told you not to try to chase other peoples speeds......... A 25P Fury might be slightly better than the 26P Tempest, the 26P Fury is too much for your boat.

not really chasing any ones speeds just trying to get it set up the best possible. the boat used to run 74.8 with my old rude and people are telling me the new mercury should eat it up... who knows..lol

No other prop, or changes to your CURRENT set-up is going to make your boat 4 MPH faster........

Well I ran a b&b'd 27 tempest today at a little over. 74 @5680. Granted the air temps were 37° higher than when I ran 77.7.

I'm talking about true prop comparison/set-up conditions. Back to back runs, on the same day, same conditions..........Not better numbers due to atmospheric conditions, fuel, loads.......

I completely agree. I was just pointing out how much the heat affects these motors
