I got one right away for my new Yamaha SHO 150. Love it. Easy to store and use. There's other threads on here where the debate goes on about whether these or the standard transom saver bars are better, but I like the MM.

I got one for my new Merc. Got a chartreuse one so it is very visible. Love the on/off and then just stick it in my boat compartment.

I made 1 from 3/4 schedule 80 pvc. fits over trim rods and locks the motor solid.

One of the best things I ever bought. Don't have to worry about trying to keep the motor from flopping around

Have the chartreuse one for my new SHO. Best tower ever. Solid built no movement at all!

Aren't the things that slip over the trim rams with clip on steering looks about the same thing?

It will save the motor mounts. But all the weight is being held by and transferred thru the transom!

It helps lengthen service life of your hydraulic steering end cap seal by eliminating the wobble while towing in my opinion. For that reason alone ($100 repair) it pays for itself.

How do these relieve the pressure of the transom? A transom saver thats hooks to the trailer takes the load of the transom. Agree or disagree?

Well, still love mine, but those end caps will drop off. At the ramp pre-dawn, mine both came off and I didn't find one of em. They rolled downhill forever. Made it back to house(not far) with a pop lid on one side. Company replaced em free, but the new ones will have some epoxy added when installed.

Had the same problem with mine after about 6 months of use and they replaced them for free too. They told me they had a problem with some of them and my new ones are going on 2 years with no sign of wear. I had to rebuild my tilt and trim hydros shortly after so that may have contributed to the caps wearing out so quickly.
