I'm not a huge fan. I was onboard for DT-2 when the video was made. Even spent time in Pax River getting qualified to change the tires and wheels.

It's a cool aircraft, just not sure if it will ever truly come to life in the Navy. The Marines have one squadron operating out of Yuma....and the Wasp is the VSTOL platform. They are having to reconfigure the whole ship and I mean moving bulkheads just to make space for things such as weapons configurations and the massive engine.

My favorite is the belly panel that has to be removed for engine work. It's composite, as is most of the A/C. When it's replaced....It takes 24 hours to "cure" before check flight.

Pilots helmet costs in the $3M range....but will blow your mind. Very similar to the Air Force F22 Raptor helmet
capabilities.

Cool bird though, I'm just not sold that it's going to phase out the F-18 E, F or G anytime in the next 15 years. We will see I suppose.
