Waypoints from lowrance to garmin

I'm wanting to manually enter waypoints from a lowrance to a garmin 7610. Does anyone know how to change the format on the garmin?

Maybe I'm not savvy enough with these units and someone can answer straight up, but what do you mean by change the format on the Garmin? You going to manually create them in Homeport and upload them to the unit?

For example in lowrance they are listed as w 37 147.8997. In garmin they are, w 37. 20 32 977.

I will try but I was hoping for an easier way. I know lowrance has a way you can change the settings

Settings/Preferences/Units/Position Format

You can choose any format you want.

An easier way - no converting needed - is to go to your Lowrance and Export them as a GPX file. Then just copy the file to your Garmin folder on the sd card that you use in the 7610.

Or you can use that file in Homeport to edit them before putting them on the 7610.

Please clarify exactly what you are trying to do with your waypoint file.

Not sure what specific Lowrance units you have, but more recent units with current software have the ability to directly export in GPX format, which Garmin will directly import.
