    setup help on 2016 Z520

Ok, so from dealer the motor is set at 4 1/4" below pad, the boat is slower than expected and only turn 5400 rpms. I have a 25p fury and a 25p tempest plus. Which performs better and should I be around 2 1/2-2 3/4" below pad. Thanks for the help!

Yes sir, way to deep in the water. The experts will be here soon to give you a proper starting height. Should probably be somewhere in the neighborhood of 2 3/4 to 2 1/2 as a starting point. Tweak it from there and she will be running fine. Good luck.

Yes, and I run extra venting holes in mine. Basically now has no holeshot. It is quick out of the hole. RR

Would that apply to a 2012 Z521 also. Not sure what the weight difference is and if someone has a set up that is ideal for the Z521 / 250 Pro XS please jump in.

Hard to tell but I hope that is a 225 Mercury and not a 250. You would be overpowered if Z20. Good luck.

    Its a 250 on a Z520. They are rated for 250hp

Ok test run at 2.5".... rpms up around 5800, plenty of water pressure, hole shot was a lot better, but seeing the same speeds????

    What now guys?

You haven't said what speed that is, but seeing that you are running 400 additional RPMs with no increase, apparently you are getting significant prop slip. If your Fury won't lift the nose without slipping (we don't know your load, or how your engine performs, but low 70s is typical for this boat), some prop work with Mark Croxton may be in your future.
