    Electrical

    I have a 65 Mercury Jet. I am not seeing any increase in voltage on the volt meter when the engine is running on plane and am charging the battery after every trip. Any thoughts on where the problem might be. 2004 jet serial number 0T871637

    Thanks, Rick

    The experts will definatley need your S/N to answer that one.
    First questions to answer are;
    What gauge are you reading (Analog in dash, on GPS head unit, a volt meter attached directly to the battery, etc)
    How old/strong is your battery? (load tested?)
    did you ditch the wing nuts and go with SS locknuts on the battery?
    What battery do you have?
    Is your battery correctly hooked up?

    Aaaaannnnnd, You should be charging ALL of your batteries after every trip.

    Thanks, I did add serial number right after my initial post. I am reading voltage off of a Lowrance HDS 9, the battery is two years old and is a 27 series , no wing nuts, everything is hooked up properly. This is a new issue because I could always see an increase in voltage when running.
