Minimum aluminum thickness for deck extension

What is the minimum thickness for an aluminum deck extension? Gotta build one for my Champ.

    Thanks

Great question and I hope you get a response as I want to do the same thing to my boat.

I think most aluminum boats use .090 or .100 I extended the deck on an old Tracker and used .125 (1/8"). Whatever you use, try to find some 5052 aluminum and brace it. Once you get into 6000 & 7000 thousand series aluminum, it is stiffer and tends to crack or break when pressed. I'm assuming you'll have a fab shop make this?

Actually where I work we have welders that have offered to weld what I need for the boat. Thank you for the information.

.125" aluminum, and weld C-channel stiffeners to the undersides for stiffness.
