    Stratos 285xl with Optimax 150

Was needing some help please. Just bought a 2009 stratos 285xl with a Optimax 150 and it takes forever for it to get on plane. It's has a Mercury trophy plus 23p 4 blade prop and was wondering what could be going on? Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks

Have you checked each cylinder to make sure all are firing?

    Do you have jack plate?
Are you sure motor trims in as far as it should? ( sometimes there is a temporary pin in the way).
Plugs in or out in prop?
Your set up sounds good......just some little something.

Something is amiss... I ran a 23 trophy on mine and it was quick out of the hole and ran too many rpms on top end.

Checked all plugs and they are firing was going to put new plugs in Tommorow because they look like the original ones. Yes I have a jack plate not sure what size but it was all the way down and I raised it up
about 2 inches but it didn't help. It has 2 plugs in the prop and 2 plugs out

When you raised the engine, did the RPM change? Two inches is a lot of movement.

If you still have good water pressure, raise it more. 4 blade props like to run high on hole shot

The cup could be gone from prop.
Can you come up with another prop to try?
Someone to check prop size, pitch, cup?
Props ain't always what they say they are.
