    Electric fuel pump.40 hp

40 johnson elcec. Vro removed by previous owner, oil only. Fuel pump side went bad on me. Removed all the rest of vro componets, added New Vacuum fuel pump and it wouldn't keep up when on plane. Replaced bulb with new johnson bulb. Can't find any fuel or air leaks. I am running an electric pump off the acc wire (key controled) with a manual kill switch. Don't like it but it is all that will work. Is there a pulse limiter that goes in the side of the block that i am missing or something else?

Electric fuel pump will eventually spell disaster. No way to cut off if engine dies and you have a leak/bad float/dirt in needle, ect. Major fire danger. Did any one trouble shoot the motor to find out why it was bogging other than throw parts at it?

It just runs out of gas at cruising speeds.
