    Humminbird 797c2 Help

I was working on stripping out my old humminbird 797c2 last weekend. While trying to pull the transducer wire from the counsel to the back of the boat, the plug end has gotten stuck. I have tried everything to get it out and I cannot.
May question is, I plan on reinstalling this unit on my other boat. Can I cut this and splice it with an extra cable I have? I seriously cannot get it out it is wedged between the top cap of the boat and something. I've tried everything. I really don't want to have to buy a new transducer and I have plenty of wire pulled back, just would need to splice on a new plug end, or order a new plug end.
Let me know what you guys suggest
    thanks

I wouldn't try it, but some have. Here's a video.

By the way, I also have a 797 and have replaced my original transducer due to failure. I bought it in 2008. You might just want to buy a new transducer.

If you order a new plug end, it will include a cable and transducer attached.

I've soldered them up before (HDSI XDCR, #710201-1 - XHS 9 HDSI 180 T) - and they are a royal PAIN to do.

I think the point Wayne was making is the part that is "stuck" is not easily obtainable to splice to ...

So ~ if you can't get that one out - you'll need to buy another.

No, my reply refers to this statement "order a new plug end".

None exist, to get a new transducer plug, you have to get a new transducer.

EXACTLY my point WP, you see if he can't get the end out - he's got NADA to splice to....

    Carl's right!
If you can't figure a way to get it free, rip on it & hope it doesn't shred on the way out...
