Unless they can provide a deed to the lake they have no right to complain. You did all anyone can do!

Agreed. After much pondering I truly believe that most anglers' anger issues stem from truly have angler ability issues.

Faced with an oncoming boat fishing the shoreline in your direction, I'd pull of at about 100 yds. I might fish their used water. You did nothing wrong.

well they probably owned that part of the lake, and the shoreline you were just fishing, was it roped off with big "NO FISHING" signs??? man ,,the nerve of some people, its public water, fish where ever , you did nothing wrong, they probably were having a bad day and needed to blame you for their poor ability to catch fish,, some people just suck.

Sounds like you were courteous and not a problem. They had the problem.

Wonder why nobody has posted the "alternate" viewpoint thread about this yet...

You handled it correctly in my book.

If they had planned to double back, they would've turned around at the sight of you.....you did right.

Hitting some areas I've never fished, I pulled in on a point at a channel bend to make a few quick shots with a SB then back out on the other side and hit the bluff end with a jig. As I rounded the point I met another boat fishing coming at me. I knew they were there first since I didn't hear them pull in so I just kicked the troller up and moved out to pass and let them have the point. The plan was to fall in behind them and fish going away. As I passed I said good morning and apologized for pulling in front of them but didn't know they were there. The return remarks were not what I expected and they were not pleased at all that I was pulling in behind them even though I was going away. When they saw me as we both rounded the point they made no gesture that they were turning to go back down the bank. So what do y'all feel was the right thing to do?
You did fine. If they had a problem with that, then it's their problem.

I would have done the same as you under the circumstances. Some people you just have to ignore, they're not worth being concerned about.

When they say something or make a gesture ( being Dick's) I put the MK on high, go right over to them and yell

Hey, you say sumpin? I never wear my hearing aids in the boat.

Seems like now days no matter how close or far away from somebody you get, they get butt hurt so why even bother. I just stick my ear buds in, tune them out, and smile.
