Unless they can provide a deed to the lake they have no right to complain. You did all anyone can do!

Faced with an oncoming boat fishing the shoreline in your direction, I'd pull of at about 100 yds. I might fish their used water. You did nothing wrong.
Well if they there wearing jerseys then you are wrong and should get 50 lashes with a bullwhip , if not then you did the right thing
Sounds to me like you did the right thing.

well they probably owned that part of the lake, and the shoreline you were just fishing, was it roped off with big "NO FISHING" signs??? man ,,the nerve of some people, its public water, fish where ever , you did nothing wrong, they probably were having a bad day and needed to blame you for their poor ability to catch fish,, some people just suck.

Sounds like you were courteous and not a problem. They had the problem.

Wonder why nobody has posted the "alternate" viewpoint thread about this yet...
You handled it correctly in my book.
If they had planned to double back, they would've turned around at the sight of you.....you did right.
YUP, you did good...

I would have done the same as you under the circumstances. Some people you just have to ignore, they're not worth being concerned about.
When they say something or make a gesture ( being Dick's) I put the MK on high, go right over to them and yell
Hey, you say sumpin? I never wear my hearing aids in the boat.
fug em digheads
Seems like now days no matter how close or far away from somebody you get, they get butt hurt so why even bother. I just stick my ear buds in, tune them out, and smile.
Maybe you should of said you're sorry, turned around and trailered the boat.
