Wow, that really sucks. Glad to hear everyone is OK and hopefully the teenager learned a lesson. Hope his insurance company does you right. As gatorglenn said, make sure you take a toolbox with you when you meet the adjuster in case he lets you strip it.

Glad you are ok. This exact scenario has been playing out in my mind as I look forward to picking my new rig up. I had already been planning to have my insurance on it before I pick it up, and now I am doubly motivated!

Sorry to hear that. I have to admit that I was thinking about getting hit all the way home from picking mine up. I still think about it all the time knowing it could happen at any moment. Lots of people texting and not paying attention these days.

That sucks especially if you end up having to buy a 2017 model.

So I was just thinking. I got insurance from Bob at world wide, a lot to do with agreed value versus actual value, in case I wreck it. But, if the other insurance is going to pay for a wreck does this help you out? Or is it simply their insurance company goes on the old 'the boat is only worth X$$X? I know in this case it should be simple since the boat never touched water, but say if this happens a year down the road. What then, they give you depreciated value according to what? NADA or KBB or the like?

Still no update on the boat, truck hitch, ball and pin will be payed for no questions asked because it took an impact. The tow truck driver told me to ask and it worked. Was told buy my insurance company that almost every company goes off of CCC for pricing vehicles and property. It goes off of the zip code and they take the high one and the low one get rid of it and then go off of average.

You may want to think about a Lawyer if your offered anything less than full replacement.

That's where having insurance that pays out an agreed upon amount comes in handy. Don't have to worry about under/uninsured, gap coverage, etc. May be a bit more but not much. My boat is insured for the full amount plus all my electronics, motor, TM and gear.

They are talking about the guy who hit him, his insurance. They may try to depreciate the value,.

I dont even think a lawyer would be needed, pretty sure if they offer you less you could handle it in court. Pretty clear cut, you just bought a brand new boat that never d the water, therefore they need to replace it with a new boat that has never touched the water.

I think he was referring to not getting as good of a deal on a 2017.

Found out today the 3party adjuster said it was totaled. He talked to me for 30 min about the quality and craftsmanship of the boat. He thinks the Ranger retractable tie down stopped the boat from going into the truck. The 17 will cost me more then the 16 I had. Hopefully my dealer will help me out. I bet he never sold 2 boats to the same person in a month before. I will put pics and tell everything about the insurance company when it is settled.
