    Remote drain plug.

Due to age, weight, knees on gravel, talon etc., I am installing one and was wondering what would be the best spray, grease, silicone or what to keep it lubricated without damaging the O-ring. RANGER owners, were you given any instructions? Box says keep clean and lubricate as needed. Thanks Jim

I use mercury grease on mine...greatest thing since sliced bread. Just make sure it "clicks...snaps" when you twist the actuator. It will leak if not fully seated.

I read some where not to trailer the boat with the plug out, it will collect debris on the o-ring from the road.

Many states now require you to trailer with the plug out to prevent spread of AIS.

Do you have a flow-rite plug with a o ring? I was talking about that particular style plug not a solid rubber or screw in type.

Threaded plug with an o ring. Not the flow rite. I still don't see how road debris will get into the drain while trailering?

I have got debris in the threads from washing the boat and dirt from the carpet ends up in the threads of the drain hole.

I'm just passing on what I had read. I'm assuming that the debris gets on the o ring and causes it not to seal tight
