Noise: Chirp or Panoptix: Spooking fish!!!

Question raised on another site does anyone feel the noise of chirp and panoptix would spook fish.

It is assumed that chirp sends more noise by one poster.

    Any thoughts on this? Thanks

I dont buy it. Panoptix and chirp are on essentially the same frequencies as all other sonar.

If that did happen, you would be able to see it on the screen with Panoptix when you hit them with the beam. I have seen schools of fish and single fish move out of the way of the boats path, but they sit still when the boat isnt heading right for them and Im scanning them with the PS21.

google says some goldfish can hear up to 4 kHz. Sonars run from 50 kHz on up. Larger fish only hear even lower frequencies.

I've got to think a trolling motor and noise in the boat scares far more fish than a graph ever will.
