    Comparing Boats

With the same load. Which boat will have the fastest top end speed? All being set up at their best. 919-721-920-921. Just curious . I read about all these boats and they seem to be all over the place. Thanks ( are best speeds coming from the Sho or Merc ? )

Mercury and g2 are the fastest the numbers are all over the place because of tackle carried, poles , dual console , fishing seats in the boat ,trolling motor 112 or 80 , no flake in the gel coat saves 65 lb many factors

I'm talking about comparable loads. Know that I can take my fishing gear out run less than 1/2 tank of gas and pick up 2 to 3 mph.

Man from what I have read the 919's are fast little suckers! Occasionally any one of the other 3 are equal, but if you look through the posts on the 919 it is a rocket ship.

I have a 721 and get a hair over 72 with a manual plate, others are faster, but only by a little bit.

919,721,and 920s have all hit 78,79, and said 80 in the perfect conditions, empty the 919 will run with the others but take same heavy load from a 920 and put in a 919 and you will loose 2 to 3 MPH, that extra 25hp helps with the load

All things considered. ...I'd say it's a wash between the 721 and 920....w/ the 919 nipping at their heels....
The difference comes in the conditions, that's where one model will out perform another.

The 920 and 721 are fastest 78-80mph, probably give the edge to the 920 because that's the only boat I've seen over 80. Out of people I know on Champlain with the 920 my boat is the fastest. Matter of fact my boat is the fastest bass boat on Champlain I know of hitting 79.5 stock. There are some very fast tritons here as well that will run 78 full. The 921 and 919 are the same as well. Some hit 77 in a 921 and some hit 77 in the 919 but on average both are 75 mph.

I agree with Drewtick. I have spoken to folks that have had both and according to them, the 721 is going to be the fastest, day in, day out. I have seen high 70's from the 921, but under normal tournament days with two guys, it will always run 73-74.

The only real prof I've seen on here is mine and Drew's 919. He posted a video running 79 with a sho. I posted my lowrance screen shot running 79.2 with a merc.

I may have missed other post but ours are the only two with real visual data.

That being said the 919-920-721 all probably run about the same.

I've had my 721 w/ Merc to 78.7 with half tank and full load. The catch is the port side thermostat was stuck and not getting proper combustion on the port bank so I assume I've got more in her.

I've had this boat on the water a total of four times. I can't speak for the top end of other models but the 721 is a beast.

My buddies 919 is a freaking speed DEMON! I've personally seen 76.5 in it with two guys, full fuel, and a two 8' Blades, with a 24V Motorguide. My 721 is a 74-75 every day with two guys, 76-77 with myself and a full load. Gonna send my 26 to Croxton and see how it goes.

920 hands down is the fastest......not by much

    721 with 250 and 919 with 225 is a toss up...second

now if you go with a 300 on a 920 or 721 and 12 inch plate i am unsure at this time......but my guess still goes to 920 1st and 721 2nd

this is mercury outboads....have no clue about sho or g2

If I remember right, there was a 721 video on here running 80+ a long time ago.

Hard to prove your speeds when are equipped with HB1198's they do not have a speed memory. That said mine is consistently 74-75. I got a tad over 87 with it once with perfect conditions, slight chop. Friend took it out when I was recovering from back surgery, he said he got just a tad over 80 and back out of do to chine. That was with old power head. Got a new power head on courtesy of Yamaha and due to cold weather have not been able to open it up yet.

The fastest on Champlain? I guess no one there has an Allison or Basscat then.
