    Champion 191 question

Seen this boat on local Craigslist and was wondering if this was a fair price? Went and looked at it and is a super clean rig. Any feedback would be appreciated. https://springfield.craigslist.org/boa/5995563888.html

A tad high, but if it's the boat of your dreams then there is no price too much. At a minimum, make him install new tires at that price! 20 years old tires is insane.

    And check the transom...

No, I have a 98 181 with a 150 xr6 same condition except new tires, hds 7 & 5 with structure scan and would sell for $10,000 if someone offered it!

Agree, high on price even for a great condition 19ft boat of that year, but I can vouch for a 191 being a great boat.

Thanks for the input, he is willing to negotiate a little on that price but I think it's out of my budget still.

Too high. Call your bank and ask them. They will confirm its high.

I'm sure it's high, I've been on the nada site lookin should go for the 11,500-12000 range. I just bought the same setup in 98/00 model years for 9k

Nada doesn't keep up with the real market, it's a number for the banks to use. Boats in Texas sell way more than nada values them at and I'm sure there's states where nada is higher than the prices sell for.

They say the real price of an item is what someone is willing to pay for it.

    This^^^

Guides and banks may give you numbers but they may not be realistic. I own a car that books for a lot less than it's realistically worth, and it's only 10 years old, nothing too fancy or crazy, but they are sought after. Even so, I still think asking price on this one is a little steep but it wouldn't surprise me if it sold for more than whatever the bank or books said, and would still be very much worth it.

Guess as long as you have cash on hand your good to go, the op doesn't seem to be in this position. If you Need a loan to buy something nada may as well be the bible

I bought a 98 191 in 2013 for $12,500.00. The motor only had 90 hours on it and the boat was prestine. 10-12K seems about right. I'd make an offer in that ballpark and see what happens.

I am sure by the nada it's high, but as much as new boats cost, I think it would be a steal of a deal for 12 or 13,000. A new Ranger or Bass Cat, or even a Z18 Nitro will cost you 3 times that much.
