Transducer to big for trolling motor!!

Ok guys I was putting me echomap 7 on my boat trolling motor and it will not fit. Does anyone know if garmin will exchange or anyone know of a way around or something? Does anyone want to swap I have a gt40-Tm.
My transducer measures almost 9 inches.
My trolling motor is a Minnkota edge.

Please help.

Unfortunately, all of the better transducers these days are big suckers. If you want better performance, you're stuck.

Ive seen people slot the fin and cut them off all the way.

I have no idea if Garmin will swap it. Cant hurt to call and ask though.

Im sure you could find someone to swap you for a cheaper one on here though.

On my Motorguide I was able to drill new holes in the upper half of the mounting bracket to make it fit. I know it's not the same tm but i can get you some measurements if you need

You can mount practically anything on a Minn Kota Edge if you're not afraid to cut of some of the fin and use it to mount some HDPE to use for custom mounting.
Here is one with 2 Vexilar xd's in the square metal bracket, GT50 (9 inches) and a GT8 in front of it.

That's 2 Vexilar transducers mounted in their trolling motor cage.

Cut the fin down/off. Not Garmin but you get the idea. I also cut the bracket down so it tucked up a bit
