    Trim gauge

Just swapped out a 89 Evinrude for a 2004 model. The gauge was never correct on the old motor and doesn't seem to work at all now. Possibly wired wrong for new rig?

    Thanks

Did you use the MWS wiring for the new motor or use a conversion cable for the big red plug? For the trim gauge your sender wire is white with tan tracer, ground black and blue for back light.

I installed the complete harness that came with motor, I believe it came off a 04 Stratosphere. Was simply plug and play at motor. I also got the system check tach with the deal. There are two oddball plugs(one is labeled Stratosphere) that I did not use. I suspect the trim leads are in one.

Probably came off of a Stratos. Don't matter you need to look at the harness at//near the control box. There should be a couple three wire harnesses with ring terminals on them. It should branch off the system check loom.
