My back-ups are props that I normally run, and are in Top condition!

I dont buy a compsite or aluminum prop for a spare. I just have a second SS prop that I would normally use.

I carry a trophy that will get the boat out of the hole with any load. Have a spare hub kit also. Cj

I have two 24 Raker II's that performance wise are almost identical. I will run one until it shows a lot of wear or starts too lose performance. When that happens I put on my identical spare and send off my old prop to get it reconditioned.

I carry a spare hub along with an raker 26 with hub in it as well. I will switch out and put a 24 rx4 depending on situation though.

It really only makes sense, most used props are in the $250-300 range and a trip to mark you can have a better than new one for a few $$ more. A composite or aluminum one is just a band aid on most of the boats on here. It would get you to the dock but you still need to replace it as soon as possible. CJ

Normally I dont carry a spare, Ill troll home or to a close ramp and call for help. But on bigger tourney days (BFL, TBF, bigger money, etc) I toss one of my other props and the tools to change it in the rear port compartment. So my spare is just another similar to whats on the boat.

I have a summer prop and a winter prop. The one sitting during the off season is my spare and I always carry a complete extra hub. Right now, it is a 24P Fury 4 while i am running a 25P Fury 4.
