    Need some advice

Was getting the Garmin striker 7SV at 499. I read and know about the maps vs waypoints and for what I want it for was not a issue for me. Last night I came across the regular echomap 73sv and as you know it has maps or I can add better as well as the use of the SD card slot for screenshots and saving data for 479.

Question being, older model over the Striker. For those that had the echomap 73sv or have had the chance to coonfoot one and then the striker, what did you think? SV vs SV etc. from one over the other and did chirp really give you something over the other?

    Thx for any help

Where did you find the echomap 73sv for 479? I'm looking for one to go with my 93sv.

Bass Pro is advertising Echomap 73 SV for the Fishing Classic sale at $499. That is a great price for that unit. Don't forget it has Quickdraw which the Striker does not have.

    Cabela's has them for $479

The GPS store has the Echomap chirp 73dv $499 if you don't need sideview.

Crusher it was on Cabela's site.

Thx Ernie for the info. What about the chirp vs using the older echomap 73?

Make sure the unit has *chirp* and *sidevu*, otherwise it's apples and worms.

skid, I just did research on the echomap series, had not paid much attention due to tunnel vision. Seen vid's and read reviews on chirp plus really like what I'm seeing in the chirp 73sv with what it can give on the water.

Going to save up a few more bucks and go with the Echomap chirp 73sv.

    Thx for the replies guys

Monte is absolutely right. Folks you have to really pay attention to these adds and know what you are getting.
