    Ranger Kill Switch Button

First off, hello, my name is Kevin. I am from Oklahoma. I have a 2005 Ranger 521VX Comanche. It was the keyless start panel. When I first bought it (used) I noticed that when I hit "Stop" it wouldn't kill the engine and I would have to pull the safety plug to kill it. One of the first times I had it out , When idling around, I realized that it did kill it but not immediately. When you hit the Stop button the engine will start sputtering and will finally die. I assume this isn't normal. Does anyone have an idea of what is causing this? Thanks in advance!

    Kevin

Long time for a key pad to fail. Water intrusion, sun exposure, etc... Replace it unless you know of known other issues.

Thank you! I will copy the question into the Ranger forum. I just didn't know the rules on double posting. Thanks!

You may want to call Ranger and see if they sell a back -up key switch kit for your model which you can use if the keypad ever fails.
