    Another WalMart Score

Went to Wally World in Spartanburg today and they had a bunch of Strike King stuff on clearance. Most of it was marked at $5.00! A lot of hard baits as well as tungsten worm weights. It had been picked through pretty good by the time I saw it, they still had a good amount of the weights left.

I went to walmart about 8 years ago in NJ and scored beyond belief - every fishing lure in the section was marked at .25 cents. Rapalas , rebels, terminators.
I filled a shopping cart up - apparently someone screwed up big time....I told a few buddys and they cleaned up as well. Next day everything was reg priced.

I did that a couple years back. The strike King Tungsten was marked as low as $1.00, so I grabbed all I could. Too bad all that was left really was 1/8 and 1/4oz. So I have a ton of 1/8 and 1/4oz weights.

Same here a few years back. Everything was marked. 025 to .050 cents. I spent over 300 bucks on a cart full.

Nicely done! Sounds like some great finds. Walmart is one of those places that you should check the fishing department every time you are in that store. I truly don't like Walmart, but have to go there once a week for work. The only money I ever spend there is if I find great deals on fishing stuff. Here are some of my recent deals...

Falcon 7'-3" MH "Jason Christie" rod for $40.00, usually $98.99
Wright & McGill "senko" spinning rod for $22.00, usually $80.00
Seagur Red Label Fluorocarbon in 12lbs, 10lbs, 8lbs for $5.00 per 200 yard spool, usually $11.00.
Strike King Dream Shot for $1.50 per bag, usually $5.99

Every time we go to Walmart I walk thru the Clearance section that they usually have in sporting goods because somebody always marks something wrong (or wright, for me)
I have wanted to pick up several Bucco rods that were marked down to $60 but the boss said no to that.

I guess I would have to actually go to Walmart to find these deals. Find that I prefer the People of Walmart slide shows and videos much better than the actual experience!

Hey Bill, yeah were not very far away at all. I'm about a mile from the state line near the Duke Power plant.

Last year I walked into the fishing section to find a guy walking at me with like 20 rod and reel combos. He saw my surprise look and said sorry he got all the good ones but there were more to be had. And there around the corner was 3 trash barrels full of rods and combos. All marked $5...... He bought all the quantum KVD combos which were like $125 EACH for $5 each. Ended up buying some nice $45 Mitchell combos for each of my kids, nieces, nephews. Spent $30 bucks and made the day of 6 little kids. Thanks walmart.

Never happens here. Was in there today they had big yellow 'CLEARANCE' tags on some fishing items.

For instance some lures were marked all the way down to $3.00 from $3.38! What a deal!
