Question Fairway woods for average golfer

I really like the callaway heavenwood.
Callaway Men's Big Bertha V Series Heavenwood, Right Hand (20.5 Degree Loft)
Really good reviews. I'm needing a 3W. Anyone else use this club?

Sorry can't help you there. I have the titliest 913 15 degree. Also &Ave hit a taylormade 2.0 3w and 5w. They were really easy to hit withe and had an awesome feel to them. It's really your personal opinion and what fits your style. Go to a range nearest to you and hit em all

Callaway XR16 has some great reviews. I'm going to golf galaxy today for a lesson I got for Christmas. I'll check into the pre owned clubs.

I have TaylorMade 2008 Burner 3 and 5 woods I really like. I have another set of older Orlimar Tri-metals that are really sweet to hit.

I didn't make it to golf galaxy yet. Truck problems delayed me. But maybe tom or mon I'll get by there to hit a few.

My neighbor says that I need a 3W. Necessary club for what? Some tee shots right? And what else?

I use my 3 wood off the tee as much as my driver, so I think its important at least for my bag. I have played Taylor Made my whole life until recently. I still have the TM driver, but I have a Nike Covert 2.0 3-wood. I gotta say, its a nice club. Very easy to hit with the cavity back design. And it goes a mile. I know Nike is no longer in the hard goods market, but if you can find one on the shelf, I would give it a try. Might be able to get a heckuva good clearance deal on it.

Its always nice to have a hybrid club in your bag as well. They can replace a 3 and 4 iron and are much easier to hit.

Thanks. I went to golf galaxy today. I tried a few used 3w clubs. Few different brands. I liked a few but im really wanting to try the Taylormade m2 or Callaway xr16. They didn't have anything I really liked. I do have a 3,4,5 hybrid. They were part of my irons set. I have adams idea irons that came with those hybrids. I just feel like I need a 3w. Ill keep an eye out for the nike. I did hit a nike vapor driver last year that really swung good.

I use my 3W on just about every par 5 for my second shot. I hit it about 210-220. I hit from the senior Ts so that club gets me down close enough to hit a wedge to the green vs an 8 or 9 iron. I do use it on some of the par 4s off the T but only if my driver isn't cooperating that day.

Don't rule out Ping. I use a Ping G25 3wood and I feel I can hit it out of any thing.

Think distance gaps and not the number painted on the head. If you hit your driver 250yds and your next longest club 200yds (just examples but you get the idea), go to a fitter and find a 225yd club...might be a 3wd, 4wd, 5wd, or hybrid.

Thanks......thats a great tip. Im lucky to hit 225yds from my driver. I have a king cobra driver that my neighbor is letting me borrow. My son is eventually going to send me a Taylormade R7 driver that he has. But in the meantime. I appreciate the information. I will keep looking at look at the clubs not just the numbers.
