    2006 Mercury Pro XS 225

Long story short 06' optimax new power head in 15', new DFI air compressor in 16', new lower in 17'. Was running back to weigh in for tourney and boat slowly started to lose power. Was running 64 in a 10 mile run the boat lost around 10 mph to 54. Still runs will jump right up and go on the water. Any clues will greatly be appreciated!

S/N 1B228827 It was almost if the motor was misfiring every so often. It didn't lose much maybe 500 to 600 RPMs when it did this.

I would perform a spark test as the condition is occurring.

Sounds like you may have a coil going out.

Rather than guessing at every component that's ever failed on an engine, I would recommend starting with the BASICS:

    -Compression Test
-Spark Test (including plug condition or replacement)
-Fuel Quality, Delivery, and Air/Fuel Pressures (and pressure leakdown)
-CDS Diagnostic to PRINT Run and Freeze-Frame (Fault) History
    -Reed Inspection
