    618 performance

    Hey guys,
comparing 18 ft boats, looking to purchase in the fall.
Does anyone know how the 618 will perform with a 36 vt. Tm and a large cranking battery?

63-65 mph w/ the Merc 175 loaded to fish w/ poles. No poles loaded medium w/ 24v TM 70 mph is not unheard of....

They're great rigs, take a test fish in one and you'll agree!

    I'll send ya a PM.

Got an hour and a half on mine. She'll scoot. Electronics comin in today. So when Andy gets em installed I'll know how fast. Love the maneuverability of the 18'6" in tight quarters on the TM. Plus it's the one that best fits in my garage. Single axle allows me to move it around by hand. Plus it's pretty affordable for a new boat.

I can't answer your question specifically because I've only got a 24v TM and not a large cranking battery. All three are interstate 27s. My normal top speed is 66-67 mph with my best at 68.7.
Performance wise, she handles great. Quick out of the hole and quick to top end. Will literally cut on a dime, and that's something that can't be explained, just has to be experienced. Even though I had read how much these things could turn, I was surprised when I first tried it.
If you're not used to a little chine, then it will take a little seat time but with the proper setup and trim it's not bad at all. It's an all around great 18 foot boat.

Large crankin battery? I asked my dealer about that. Will the crankin battery handle all my accessories? "We take care of that. That crankin battery in there will handle anything and everything you can put on it." Customer service right there.

    Manual. I'm running a 24p fury at 3 3/8" ptp.
If I had to order again I might would go with a hydro, just to see if it made a difference.

Nice boat. Make sure you put up pics of your new 618 when you get it.
