For my 175 HPDI I can get ethanol free 86 octane, do I need Ring Free or Ring Free Plus? Also what oil do you guys recommend? Pennzoil Premium Plus, Yamalube, or something else? And is there anything else I should add to my fuel besides Ring Free? Thanks.
I use ring free and stabil 360 in every tank. Definitely need the ring free but you could probably do without the stabil since you use ethanol free gas. I also use Pennzoil synthetic oil. If your motor is under warranty, make sure you use the recommended oil.
It's not under warranty, just wondering what oil to get as I've heard bad things about Yamalube and its getting ready for me to put oil in it for the first time since I got the boat.
My 2004 hpdi gets ethanol free 87, ring free, quikleen, and a shot of seafoam in every fill up. 13 years old and runs great , never a hiccup. Kind of the old cocktail from Don Weed. Inside of prop looks just like the outside. - JP

Pennzoil xlf or Pennzoil premium plus or Quicksilver premium plus. They all work good in my 2004 175 HPDI for 13 years. Never a problem. -JP
Does anyone run the dfi oil or just a tcw3 rated oil good enough?
I've been running xd 100 synthetic for years.

I run Yamalube, Yammie Fuel Stabilizer, and Ring Free Plus.
247 hours on a 2012 with no issues.

I also use non-ethanol fuel and all I have put in mine since 2012 is ring free +. I use Yamalube and will continue to use it.
