    Wire Brush for Grills

Wife works in the hospital. She came home the other day and told me that from time to time folks come in with serious abdominal problems because they have ingested grilled foods with the wires from grill brushes in them. Pokes a hole in the digestive tract. Bad deal. Won't be doin that anymore.

Saw a thread like that on here a while back. Never thought much of it. Found 3 of the wires on the grate a couple weeks ago. I'll keep them for other stuff, but not on the grill anymore.

I think that you might have seen the thread that I posted a while back: http://www.bbcboards.net/showthread....ght=Wire+grill

There is no way I will ever use a wire grill brush again!

That's the one! Scary thing is, the wires are tough to see. I just happened to see the sun shine off one. Then I looked closer and found 2 more. I should have paid attention to the post.

After brushing just take a damp paper towel and wipe the grates down a few times. It takes some of the black residue off also. You'd be surprised how much of that comes off after wiping.

Use one of them wire brushes that welders use. They're pretty heavy duty and they're stainless still so they won't rust.

Used wire Brush for years, no issues, cause common sense wire brush, then in sink for wash n rinse, and always cover them with foil before cooking anything

I use the Char-Broil ceramic impregnated bristle brush no steel bristles. I only scrape off the crust from the grates before I get ready to grill, and the heat takes care of the rest. Need to keep them grates seasoned.

I had one. I awoke to a noise out on our patio last weekend and put the outside light on. I saw a possom with my grill brush in his mouth making a b- line for the woods.
