    Also everyone seems to measure a little different.

    Like tim mentions he measures the lip, I do not I take my measurement a few inches forward on the pad.

    So depending on how and where you measure one persons measurement may be 1/2" different from someone else's.

    In my opinion, a Hydraulic plate is a must on the 21's.
    If you set the plate for you best handling and top end speed, as Nathan stated, you best be careful when accelerating and trimming to get it on the pad or the transom will try to pass the bow.
    The 2003's are a different story, I agree with hirks when it comes to a hyd. plate on them.
