I never thought that I would get so many IM and post requests for these pics, I'm humbled

this is how you cram rods onto the front deck of a fish & ski. see, they don't get crushed by the trolling motor, perfectly safe!

Good idea...but if I were you I'd put a Bounce Buster on there just in case. Would hate to see that TM come down hard on a wave.

had to think about that one a while, your talking about a legg right, but even if it did bounce, the hinge point would have to break to hit the rods, but I think I'll look for a leg

Just remember to move them before you pull up to a dock .

That is by far the best solution I've seen for our boats. Is your pedal screwed down? I wish there was an way to shorten the cable. With the small front decks we have, my cable hangs off the side of the boat a good bit. Would be better if I could take a couple feet out of it.
Do you have a problem with the rods scratching the boat at the front? Wonder if there is some sort of strong tape that you could stick to the boat under them in the front. But be able to remove it if you ever wanted to.
Good work though. I am definitely building one of those deck extensions this summer. Did I read that you have velcro holding it down?

no velcro jason, just a tight fit, it doesn't go anywhere. and niel, I wish the core of engineers woul let us ave docks on our lake, there are only 2 on a lake 66 miles long!!! and jason, so far no scratches, but was thinking about using some of that bathtub rubber from lowes there to protect it.
