Being a 4 stroke and 2.0:1 gears, I dont think you need any venting. But the FS has a shortened barrel with less stern lift and more bow lift. You can also plug the pvs holes with solid plugs. I think you could turn a 24P. A 23P is actually a 22P with heavy cup.

So I bought a 24" Bravo and it's way too much blade for me to turn. I got 55mph at about 5400 rpm. Holeshot has zero grip but is slow simply from being too much blade area for me to turn. We tried it on a friend's Beavertail Lightning with an Etec G2 250 when all loaded down for a redfish tournament the last two days and it was perfect on that getting 67-68 at 6000rpm. So he's buying it from me.

I'm really tempted to find a Trophy Plus 24" to try. Thoughts on that?
I'd like have the economy and speed of the Tempest at the current engine height but the feel and grip of it at one hole lower. Maybe that's just not possible. But I'd like to try.

Did you try plugging the holes? Did you raise the motor? Unless you try these things, You are not giving any prop a fair shake.

The bravo I bought doesn't have PVS holes and the engine was as high as I can go without hitting my poling platform.

Every prop I try gets run at all holes that are available to me and with solid plugs in the holes unless I have problems with holeshot.

Ican move the engine in 20 minutes in my shop so it's no big deal to test it at different heights.

You could have PVS holes put in that one.

The ebay lister even corrects himself for misleading about PVS holes...

I already sold it to my buddy.

Does the XS have a different blade than the regular Bravo? If not, how does the addition of PVS holes affect the top end? I thought they only affected holeshot. I could only turn it about 5500 rpm. My redline is 6000.

Wait. On page one you said Bravo FS and now Bravo XS. Which is the right one? And what's the difference? The Mercury website is terrible considering there are multiple Bravos available.

Now after doing a ton of reading I'm wondering if I need to just buy a true 24" Tempest and send it to Croxton to B&B. The 25 repitched to 24 runs well on the boat so I'm wondering if a custom true 24 would be perfect.
