Anyone replace their speedo with smart craft gauge?

I'm looking to get a smart craft gauge for my tr196 but I don't know where to mount it. I am ussing the graph mount in the dash so I was thinking speedo location but not sure the gauge is the same size.

Mine is mounted by my knee, above the radio. My polarized glasses make it difficult to see while running, but there isn't anywhere else to put it. Gotta put it somewhere because it's a "must have" IMO.

I replaced my Tach on my TR-196 left my Speedo in because of the combo gauge with my Fuel gauge. Smart craft gives me Trim, RPM and lots more. Also put the Nema network in and have it going to my HDS 12

I replaced my speedo 5 years ago. I put it in the same hole and is the best thing I done.

Yes I did that on my Phoenix. My gauge is also difficult to view, but is connected to NMEA, I can display all of the data on my HDS screen and control text size placement etc

Is it the same size? I was thinking of removing trim gauge and using the smartcraft for that if it fit. How do you read fuel? Have any pics?

Did you have to have another sending unit to read the fuel level?

I plugged the end of mine in the dash with a big screw and silicone. Stays plugged up in the lower unit most of the time anyway

No, but you have to buy the fuel/oil harness if you do not have it ($50ish)
