    College tour boat hook video

    Gambler owners,

I don't know how to link the video to this post. Maybe someone else can link the video.

What is your opinion on what happened in that boat hook video?

Please give your opinion just based on watching the video.

I've watched it several times and it looks to me like he turned slightly to the right and started off the wake and then turned back left and nothing happens. The boat then hooks hard right and as there're going out the wheel is still turning left even after the driver has let go. I'm sure the boat would of had Sea Star Pro steering and on my boat it doesn't turn by itself. If the wheel was turning by itself something broke.

I've watched it several times, too. I agree with this assessment, but it's hard tell exactly what happened for certain.

Oh that, that was steering failure. I know a guy who knew the boat owner. The steering came loose from the engine. Maintenance! Check your boats steering, jackplate and engine bolts often people. And change out your steering bolt annually.

im getting hammered over in the bass boat topics forum about driver error and how dangerous it is to cross bass boat wakes like that!

I guess your just supposed to follow the slower boats and not cross their wake.
