Road hazard warranty is for punctures, cuts, impact breaks and such. If the tire was destroyed it is possible it could have been defective tire or a valve stem that are not covered by the road hazard part of your warranty. It is all written in the warranty. If he can't tell what happened to the tire because it was driven on till it was destroyed how is he supposed to determine what happened to the tire. He probably made about twenty dollars on the stinking tire. He didn't manufacture the tire either and he certainly can't afford to give you another one for free. I promise his distributor is not gonna give him one for free. Tires are a miracle of construction but when someone has one fail the bitching and name calling starts.
No road hazard for me either a buddy was buying it for his company trucks first time he tried to use it they wouldn't fix it so I say not for me my store fixes flats rotates and balances for free anyway

It's not a tire issue. Everybody has tire issues from time to time. It's your tire dealer issue. He sold them, he needs to honor warranty!
Then don't sell road hazard on trailer tires, because they seem to usually be in this condition. Heck I've seen car tires tear up almost instantly. Don't sell "insurance" on a product that you aren't willing to replace. If you want to make an extra 40-60 dollars on the sale every once in a while you just have to pay out. The real reason you agree with not paying is because most of the time if stopped right away it would either be a puncture that might be repaired or a defect warrantied by the manufacturer. Usually with new cars tpms you get tires in that condition.
Ive been using the Kumho 857's for 4 years without any failures. At least three guys in my club have blown out some of these cheap Chinese trailer tires dealers have been selling around here. One guy showed up to a tournament with a football size bubble in the sidewall lol!
They are all junk, from the research I've done, the Kumho's have a pretty good track record.

Just had the same problem on Tuesday. They would not even look at the tire, would not warranty the tire. I took my business to another company. I did not even have 2k on the tires and looked new.
I'm also a RV'er, and ST tires are one of the biggest topics on fifth wheel and travel trailer RV forums. The problem with RV's is that they don't generally have fenders, and a separating tire will do $3K to $4K in damage on average. The same failure experience is noted on RV's, boat trailers, horse trailers, stock trailers and utility trailers--millions and millions of poor quality ST tires sold yearly.
Goodyear used to have good ST tires with their Marathon, but they've been probably the highest problematic tire on the retail market since Goodyear sold their corporate souls for the almighty dollar--and sent production to China.
A high quality passenger tire or light truck tire can be put on a boat trailer. However most boat trailers have 14" tires, and there are just about no vehicles being built using 14" rubber any longer--just old Ford Ranger pickups. I am having problems even finding used 14" tires for my utility trailer.
Well, Goodyear has now started production on a ST tire back in North America. Few have been sold, and the jury is out on their quality. But I would stick with Maxxis for right now (Korean made), as it seems to be a decent ST tire. As far as I can tell, only the Sailuns made in China are acceptable for use on a RV (16" size.) Sailun may have a 14" tire, however I've never researched them.
My 12K lb. fifth wheel has Bridgestone Duravis R250 (LT/E) ribbed utility tires like those used on 1 ton diesel trucks with utility beds and light cranes. This tire is incredibly thick and heavy, and Costco says they've seen some get 150K mileage before wearing out on F350's and F450's.
I would think they should be replaced under the warranty also.
You may want to check this sensor system out - I have been using it for 3 yrs - lets you know everything going on with the tires (temp and air pressure) and I have towed anywhere from short 30 min to up to 1000 mile road trips and the piece of mind is huge knowing it will warn you before things turn into a disaster.

"The man of system is apt to be very wise in his own conceit; and is often so enamored with the supposed beauty of his own ideal plan of government that he cannot suffer the smallest deviation from any part of it…He seems to imagine that he can arrange the different members of a great society with as much ease as the hand arranges the different pieces upon a chessboard.” Adam Smith, The Theory of Moral Sentiments
