Compressor hours?

Is there a expected life or service schedule for a compressor? Like after 500 hours Compressor should be replaced or serviced? I do periodically pull the belt and check for excessive play in the pulley. Other than that is there any other way to diagnose a possible compressor failure. I have like over 500 hours on mine. Thanks

Nope. On my first Opti (1999) the compressor lasted over 1000 hours and was still great when I overheated the motor. The one on my current boat lasted about 400 hours when it let go. You just never know.
