    New (To Me) X19

Finally found a good deal on a local 2001 X19 with a 150 HP Yamaha HDPI. Currently the boat has a 6" manual Hi Jacker jack plate. From what I read it sounds like I am going to want to put a 10" on there, most likely a hydraulic since my load chances depending on the tournament or who is fishing with me, and because I frequently run shallower rivers. Haven't had a chance to get out on the water with it yet to find out the RPMs, but it looks like it has a generic 23P prop which I think I will swap out. I also want to add a power pole or talon as well. From what I've read and seen on here it everyone seems to be mounting their talons on the mounting brackets. The majority of the weight from these comes from the bracket, is there a reason why no one is just bolting them to transom? Besides for having to drill more holes? Already learned a ton from reading these forums, and look forward to learning more.

Nice! I'm running the same setup. That looks like a 23m Yamaha prop on your rig. That's what I'm running and it performs great, mine probably needs a tune up though.

That's what I figured it would be around which is perfect. The hole shot is really what I'm excited about.

You won't be disappointed! I never spent a lot of time setting it up for top speed because I didn't put the 200 on it. Definitely not disappointed though. You're gonna love it! Plenty of power! these boats are a little lighter than the later models because they are .100 vs .125 roughly a 200 lb difference.

I just bought an 2001 X19 with a carbed Vmax 150. It's got a 6 inch jack plate and a Yamaha 23M prop. Great hols shot. Only had it out a couple of times but 63 - 65 looks to be top speed.

Buckhunter35. I'm new to Xpress but I'd assume it's all about the motor height. You want to start with your prop shaft 3 1/2 below the pad. Check out these instructions for a baseline: http://www.stevescustomprops.com/faq.html You may need to raise the motor a bit. Check your water pressure if you make an adjustment. If you raise the motor too high it may not pick up enough water. Let us know how it goes.

Took some time this weekend to wire up all of my old electronics on the new boat and to replace the trailer lights with LEDs. Pretty happy with how it all came out, now I am just waiting on the trolling motor pedal tray to come in so I can install that before it is ice out.

Thanks guys! I really like the red, definitely going to stand out on the water. Seriously getting the itch to get out on the water... but I don't think that will be happening soon with up to 10" of snow tomorrow.

    Because we're running Yamahas.
