    26 tempest on 250SHO

Picked up a 26 tempest for my 250SHO. I have a flo-torque II hub kit but heard that kit won't hold up and possibly may burn up from exhaust or slip. What hub kit do I need?
    Thanks

Part Number:8M0075402 Is the one Mercury says to use for the SHO but the 835274Q1 says Yamaha 4 stoke too just the thrust washer is different.

Let us know what you think. I am running a 26P Tempest, it has crazy bow lift but I have to run it way low on the Jack Plate compared to my FXP.

Ran it yesterday with tournament load. Air temp 45. Fx20, 250sho with PP full tanks and hdy plate at several different settings. Good lift 5900rpm speed 71.9. It's slower by 1.5 mph then 25t1. Rooster tail too high. Seems like it slips too much. Not sure what to think. Will try again some other day.

If its an untouched prop it is probably off like most 26 Tempest props.

You have to run it lower. My 26 Tempest runs about 1.5" lower than the SHO T-1 my boat came with. The Tempest is also 1.5mph faster.

I did ran it 1" lower than t1. 5700 rpm and 68mph. Something ain't right. The main difference I noticed is that the hub support configuration is different. T1 has an angled hub support ribs to pull exhaust out like a fan. Tempest has a right angle ribs thus interrupts the exhaust gasses from existing. Not sure if that makes a difference in performance. Vents were plugged up.

I don't think the exhaust makes a noticeable difference. Have you had the Tempest worked? If not, it needs it. The SHO T-1 that came with my boat is the only prop I have ever had that didn't need to be worked. EVERY Tempest needs to be worked. They just ain't right straight out the box.
