jackplate for 181dcx
I am looking at adding a manual jackplate to my champion,, either a 4 or 6 inch. currently there is no plate, I'am wondering if it will be worth it performance wise and if there is really any difference in a 4 or 6 inch?
it has a 175 intruder on it and i spin a 24 raker at 5800 to 5900 rpm so i will be switching to a 26 fury as i believe 5500 rpm is recommended topend.
thanks guys!
so far i have considered the hydro dynamics rapid jack and the TH marine zlock

I don't think that hull a lot of built in setback so I would go with a 6".

Rapid jack 6" is the real deal for what you've got. I would also look at a tempest for my prop.

Pat are you thinking a 25p tempest? I thought the tempest was best with the big bass boat ? Thanks !!

Tempest will run really good on that combo. I could get molecular but it's what I'd be running. 25 should get what you want.

if you had to guess potential top end with that set up what would it be? i will do about 62 with a light load right now and 59 loaded with no plate and a 24 raker spinning lots of rpm 5800-59000 ish

If you add the plate and the 25" prop you could pick up 2-3 mph.

Should be a stud. 181 with a 150 is right at 65 add 25 hp and you should expect 67-68. IF your motor isn't tired.

Just thought I'd add if you really are turning the 24 pitch 58-5900 and only getting 59-62 then you have some MAJOR prop slippage going on. Either your raker is trashed or your engine is set too high. And im sure you know that running that intruder at 5900 is a death wish....anyway, on a much better note, it'll tote the mail if set-up right!
