I keep all JJ's, Spike it, Kickn' Bass, and all other stinky stuff in one box. I keep the dye or dip in the box while I open it and dip it over the box and lay the bait down on the lid while it dries.

I do the same. Bought one of the cheap plastic waterproof ammo cans from Harbor Freight. Still end up bagging the JJ's just for good measure.

The way it was explained to me is that JJ's bottle has to sit upright. If it is not that is when you can have problems with it.

I tried one of those pens, spike it or zoom I can't recall, but it wouldn't mark anything for chit. Tossed and ordered some JJ's :).

X2. Was on Table Rock w my sis 2 summers ago. Hot 100 degree day. Bottle was in the sun for quite awhile. Told her to vent the bottle before opening. Well...she didn't vent it one time and it sprayed everywhere. Think the chartreuse stain is just now gone from the carpet. Bottle bubbled for a couple minutes after it was opened. Made me wonder if it's a good idea to even be using the stuff.

JJ blue dye does not color black baits well.

I’ve used JJ’s for around 10 years now. There are some basic must do’s when using it.

    1. Do NOT allow it to sit in the sun, regardless of the air temps. Keep it in a shady spot. If air temps are above 80-85 I’ll put in a zip lock and put it in the cooler.
    2. As stated, if spilled on carpet, don’t mess with it, it will eventually fade away. Get it on your hands and you’ll be stinking of garlic for a few days.
    3. It will eat silicone skirts and some other soft plastics. I carry Spike-it to color those.
    4. Just dip and cast. No need to let it setup. It won’t bleed either. I’ve often pre-dyed at home. The garlic smell is just as strong several days later.
    5. Just be careful when using it. If you Imagine you’re diffusing a bomb and act accordingly you should be fine.

Even though JJ's is a hassle to handle it's great. I usually dye my plastics at home, set them to dry, and re-package. The scent stays on for months!
