    In dash electronics

Does anyone have a 7" screen flush mounted in the dash? Something like a lowrance elite 7 or hook 7? Dimensions on both 9.25x6". Of course the tach would have to be relocated. I'm away from my boat for the next few days and can't take measurements.

You would have to move the tach and speedo or build a mount like I did for mine for an HDS7

Dean and I have the Lowrance 7hds flush mounted.

The tach and mercmonitor will have to be on bottom as I'm pretty sure they won't fit on side of gps

The speedo will be deleted completely, we all know how accurate they are anyways.

Do you have a picture? The Elite and Hook 7 is about .5" wider than the HDS 7. I don't like all the bells and whistles I just want basic functions.

    Hi pickwick,

I am am currently upgrading my electronics. If you plan to keep the speedo and tach the max mine will take is a 7" wide unit. I have chose to install a new HDS 5 Gen 1 that I already have and put a HDS 9 Gen 3 with 3D scan on the bow. If you connect them you can still see the structure scan on the HDS5 just not the 3D view. You can also connect an iPad to the HDS 9 via WiFi and watch and control the unit from the driver seat. Hope that helps.

Thanks for the info. My plans are to ditch the speedo as they rarely work and are inaccurate when they do work. I'd be willing to move the tach to the lower portion of the dash.

I had my 898csi mounted on the dash. Didn't go into it but still mounts on the dash. Cut down the mounting bracket to fit it against the dash. Worked out pretty good. Here is a picture.

I'd do that but would rather have it flush if I have a choice.

I think it could be done Mathew. It would set on a slight angle as it would need to be down close or a little past the little hump. I think it could be done though.

Mine is also similar to Gary's, with a 7" GPS finder. Don't know how to post photos, but shoot me an email and I can sent pic. Or maybe you can remember from the rally. I removed the useless speedo and inserted a merc monitor in the same hole.

Dean you need to put a small gauge on the left side to balance it out.

Dean, is that the elite touch? I know the elite isn't as tall as the hds but it's slightly wider so I want to make sure it fits under the windshield.
