What do the prop guys use to measure the amount of cup in a blade ? Such as a prop needs more cup, how is it measured to know where you are.

They have gauges and blocks.
I bet Mark just uses his eyes.......
I didn't know if they went by feel or what. Every prop repair video I watch always leaves out the cupping part.
They have blocks for pitch but cup is just the feel and look by the prop mechanic, most know what they are looking at and what it will do to the boat by where they put and how much.

They all use something to measure on a good wheel cup is beaten in and must be the same all the way across and on the trailing edge and the radius.
There is gauges, they look like a small flat metal square and they're notched with different profiles. They stand on the face of the blade and the notch extends over cup line.. What prop shops round here use any way.
How do they determine what radi to put in the trailing edge ? A .250 radi would be more gradual compared to a .125 ?

I think that's a pitch gauge.
From the price of the pitch gauge it's cheaper to let Mark do it.
