Not a 185, but I have a Z118 with the Merc 4S mated to a Tempest+ 21P. According to my GPS I have hit 60 once and last trip out 58. Typically I top out in the 55-57 range but I rarely see what she will do. 35-45 mph cruising is fine by me. As for holeshot, this is my first boat so I have no comparison on hole shots, but IMHO it gets up on plane pretty good.

I just ordered one with a G2 and my dealer and I were thinking it could swing a 25 because of the lower gear in the Rude. From what I've seen people run between 21-23 and depends on motor height
