    1. All eligible MWR patrons are invited to participate in the twenty-fifth annual Coast
    Guard Open Team Bass Tournament sponsored by the Base Miami Beach MWR. The
    competition will be held on the Kissimmee Chain of Lakes out of Camp Mack’s River
    Resort from 13 to 17 March 2017. Official practice days are 13 and 14 March with the
    tournament held on 15-17 March. Camp Mack’s River Resort is located at 14900 Camp
    Mack Road, Lake Wales FL 33898.
    2. Format: This is a two person team sport open to all eligible MWR patrons as defined in
    Ref A.
    3. Cost: Entry fee is 200 dollars per boat (1 or 2 person team) and includes 10 dollars per
    day for Big Bass (largest Bass caught). The entry fee will be collected during registration
    on Tuesday, 14 March from 1500-1600 hours at Camp Mack’s River Resort. All
    competitors must be registered prior to the pre-tournament Safety and Rules Meeting. The
    Safety and Rules Meeting will begin at 1600 hours immediately following registration.
    4. Prizes: Trophies will be awarded to the tournament Big Bass and the top five teams.
    5. Interested teams should contact either the tournament director, CAPT Richard Bates at
    Richard.L.Bates@uscg.mil or Base Miami Beach MWR POC Mr. Mark Bernard at (305) 535-4565,
    email Mark.M.Bernard@uscg.mil for copies of the
    official rules.

    6. Administrative absence for this event may be authorized for military members in
    accordance with Ref B, subject to Commanding Officer approval and current travel
    directives.
    7. Released by: RDML M. T. Bell Jr., Commander, CG Personnel Service Center. The
    Service Center for our most important resource – Our People.
    8. Internet release authorized.

    Might be a good time to be a bass fisherman in the Coast Guard. Authority to allow active duty time off for 4 days, that's cool.

    If you are in any branch of service, retired etc... and have privileges to any MWR you are able to fish.

    As Shef correctly pointed out, this is open to all MWR patrons from any branch of service. I don't recall a time when we didn't have every branch of service represented. I hope to see you there if your are active or retired military.
