Actually, not a lot. Over the years I've bought stuff new and taken care of it. Picked up lots of lures, plastics, and rods on sale, garage sales, or flea markets. Got lots of baits from clearance bins. Rebuild and refurbish stuff. Make my own from a few molds. Tie my own flies and jigs. I have more lures than I will use before I take the big dirt nap, but not many that went for retail.
I keep up the maintenance on my old boats. They work well. Upgrade the electrical stuff every once in a while without going apechit. It's a hobby, I love it, but it's not a money pit.
I think that buying quality equipment at good prices, then maintaining it pays over the long haul. It ain't the latest and coolest, but it works.
