Humminbird SOLIX 15 - Do you think it will be to big on the bow of my Ranger Z521C

Thinking about pre-ordering a SOLIX 15 for the bow of my 2015 Ranger Z521C I am going to mount it to my Bass Boat Tech mount, and use it for 360 Imaging.

Do you guys think it will be just be to big ?

I have a customer with a 521 and he runs the Onix on the front. If he asked the same question my answer would be, "look at it first" since there is a 12" version also. The 12" would be OK but the 15 is going to be much bigger than anything bass folks are used to.

Unit Size - Gimbal Mount:14.86"W x 8.83"H x 4.25"D

Solix 15:
Unit Size - Gimbal Mount:16.53"W x 10.46"H x 4.83"D

About 1-11/16" wider and about 1-5/8" taller - so if you can fit a 12, a 15 will work too.

Well I have a Lowrance HDS-12 and Humminbird Helix 10 mounted on a custom Bass Boat Tech mount on the bow already so that basically is 22" Entertainment Center

I think I am just going to order the SOLIX 15" and just have one unit at the Bow - I really can't wait to see what 360 Imaging looks like on this unit :)

FYI - The 360 imaging will not display in "Mega" resolution if that's what you are expecting. The MEGA imaging just applies to the units own transducer (side and down scan).

Unless money is no issue, I would get the 15" sonar/GPS model if you're just using it for 360. If you think you may move it to the console, then you would need the more expensive SI model.

im still trying to decide between the 12 and the 15 just because the screen resolution is the same on both. technically the 12 should have a better image on the screen

what he said. same resolution on a smaller screen means better picture on the screen. will it be noticeable? maybe maybe not..that's why i can't decide. Wayne says go for the 15 so I probably will

man i will tell you it is hard to go back and view 455 after running mega g2 , i will purchase a mega for bow as soon as they upgrade 360 to work on mega

i decided to do a solix 15 in addition to my 7612 on the bow. if it fits on my boat you will have no issues on your boat. your deck is huge compared to mine

Troy, if you want the crisper picture then use on of the smallerviews and that should give you the same effect of the smaller screen.It is the reverse when you use the close up feature, the picturelooses a little resolution or crispness.
