Add: $2400 Ultrex trolling motor, (2) $2000 PPs or Talons = $20,400.00. I'd have to sell ALL of my existing gear, rods, reels, tackle, electronics, and probably boat/motor/trailer to afford modern electronics. lol

Over the past 10 years, prices increased as side imaging, down imaging, screen sizes, and mapping got so much better.

However, the past few years prices have dropped as new units have come out.

Now, the prices of the latest versions of each manufacturer are high, but a few years ago 10" SI units were $2,000 to $2,500.

Now you can find new or used 10" units for $800-$1,000. A few years ago, that would have been a good price for a 7" unit.

As consumers, this is a great time. Never before has SI and DI been more afordable.

People bitch about the cost of electronics, but in reality they have better technology and lower prices in the same size units as a few years ago.

The Helix 10" Si unit is much less than the 1198 was not long ago...and a far better unit as far as imaging goes and has more features as well.

I like that price a lot. I thought it would be 5k like garmin or simrad units. Now if lowrance could step up to the plate which I really expected them to this year but maybe next year or the year after.

you can get any of the 7600 series garmin for well under 5k, even the 16 inch is under 5k

+1. Still expensive in the grand scheme but they came in under what I figured they would. Going to be hard not to get a 15. I don't know what's up with lowrance. Maybe they have something really good in the works

lowrance just introduced the carbon for this year. i love the screen size of the solix 15 but it has the same screen resolution as the 12

I personally never understood the huge cost differences to go from an 7 inch graph to a 12 inch. Were talking a very minor increase in screen size with the same software.
A 52 inch television is 600.00!! What the crap. Its a total rip off. The Helix 5 Si has the same hardware and software as the Helix 12 yet you pay 1400 dollars more for a 7 inch larger monitor!!
Yes I want one!!! But will never buy one. Not at those prices.
