    Yamaha Outboard Identification

    Trying to help a buddy of mine. 1998 Yamaha outboard at 225hp. Anyone know if this model is fuel injected or carb? Attached is photo. Motor has been rebuilt and he has interest in it. I don't know anything about Yamaha outboards, but I know they have a good rep. Thanks for any info. Pic attached.

    Get the id from the data plate that is on the left hand side of the motor. I can barely see it. Can't read the numbers.

    Have the seller send you a pic of the id plate. Only way to know for sure what you are looking to invest in.
