Have never done that. Chain saw to cut the hole? Is it legal in Minnesota to stick gamefish with that poker?
You should see all the 21-30' ice house/rv's on the ice. Crazy!
Didn't even see a fish. I understand that is unusual, but it is also my luck. The pike usually come right in when the decoys are dropped. I wanted to jig for fish in the hole, but I learned quickly that is not PC. Pike spearing is a serious sport.
You can only spear pike in Minnesota. No other sport fish can be taken this way.
Drill 6 holes and connect with an ice saw. Try to remove in big chunks so they can plug up the hole when you leave. We don't push them in the hole or when you leave it leaves a huge hole in the ice. Not good for vehicles and people that may be passing by in the dark. The holes ice over quick.
