some new performance numbers for my 06' 20-I / 250 hpdi

Got to fish a little this weekend and opened up the hammer for a little while. I got to 75.9gps at 6000rpms with 2 people loaded with gear, 1 livewell full, 3/4 tank of gas. There was a little trim left but I did not want the motor to register on the computer anything over 6000. Since it has gotten a little cooler there is more performance there. I could probably use a bigger prop in these conditions or getting it worked a little would work too. I think that is the fasted I have ever been in a boat. Just thought I would share!!!!!

The highest I ever ran it was 74.6 before the hull work and that was with a similar load but it was also 90 degrees outside.

Hey Bugman, How is the low speed performance after the hull mod?? I have an 06 20i but I am reluctant to send it to Skeeter for the hull mod since I live in California and my dealer said it would take 8-10 weeks which usually means longer.

What do you think, was it well worth it? How long did it take??

    Thanks, John.

    John,
I'll put it this way. When I bought the boat it was an 06' with only 4 hours on the motor. (long story is that the guy that owned the boat before me broke his back just after buying it and it had only been in the water 2 times. I was really looking for a different brand of boat but could not pass this boat up for $34,500.00)
I took the boat out twice and was so dissappointed with how the boat performed at low speeds (pourposing at speeds below 39mph) and the bouncing during turns, that I was going to sell it for 32K. BUT........after the hull modification........
now the boat is like night and day and is much better. I am very happy with how it performs now and it takes the rough stuff great. Skeeter made it right and now I love it.

Same results with mine after the hull was reworked. Big difference in the way it handles. Still haven't seen 75 yet. Most everyone I know is hitting around 73-74 tops.

I just took mine to a dealer in Alabama that told me they would take care of getting it back to Skeeter. Are you dealing directly with Skeeter or going through a dealer ?

I had mine go back for the hull mod. Skeeter took it back no questions asked and turned it around in 3 or 4 weeks. Took it out today and the porpoising at certain rpms and hopping in turns seems to be gone. I didn't run it very long because it was snowing and 35 degrees, but I cut a bunch of turns at speed and ran from mid-3,000s to WOT and back, and did not notice porpoising regardless of trim angle. Coming off plane didn't require tucking the motor all the way in to avoid the porpoising, etiher. I'm very pleased.

I can't wait to get mine in and back!! I had it out this past weekend at a lake with a 35 mph limit and the porposing drove me nuts.

Glad to hear everyone is happy with the mod!!
